Zyagen offers high quality
paraffin and frozen sagittal and coronal sections of mouse and rat whole
embryo at different stages of pregnancy from E10 to E17 for mouse and E12
to E19 for rat. The pregnancy is precisely determined by observation of vaginal
plug. Plug date is considered day one of gestation. The sagittal sections
are made close to the midline of each embryo and most of major embryonic tissues
are shown in each section.
Zyagen also offers paraffin coronal sections
shown many embryonic tissues such as eye, heart, pituitary, tooth, ovary,
testis, limbs, and neuronal tubes at different stages of pregnancy. These tissue
sections are ideal for studying developmental changes in protein and mRNA
expression in each embryonic tissue during pregnancy by immunohistochemistry and
in situ hybridization, respectively. Contact customer service for the

| Paraffin Sections:
Pregnancy-staged embryos are harvested from pregnant animals, fixed in 10%
neutral buffered formalin or cold 4% paraformaldehyde in PBS (upon the client
request) for 5-24 hr (depending on the embryo size), washed, dehydrated
in serial ethanol solutions, cleaned with xyelene, and embedded in paraffin.
Embryos are cut at a thickness of 7-10 microns and sections are mounted on
slides treated for adherence. Each slide contains 2-4 sections depending on
the section size. Slides are shipped at room temperature in tightly closed slide
boxes or slide mailers. Frozen Sections:
Pregnancy-staged embryos are freshly harvested and snapped frozen in O.C.T.
medium for cryosectioning. Frozen embryos are cut at a thickness of 7-10 microns
and sections are mounted on slides treated for adherence. Each slide contains 2
sections. Slides are shipped on dry ice in tightly closed slide boxes or slide
mailers.
Applications:
Paraffin and frozen tissue sections are prepared in RNase-, DNase-free environment and are ideal for cellular localization of specific
protein and mRNA in embryonic tissues during pregnancy by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization,
respectively.
