For studying functional relationship of  RNA, DNA, and protein, Zyagen offers high quality intact total RNA, DNA, and total protein simultaneously isolated from the same tissue of many rat and mouse major organs.

RNA is ideal for Northern blotting, ribonuclease protection assay, SI nuclease assay, RT-PCR analysis, rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and purification of mRNA for library construction. All RNA samples are treated with RNase-free DNase to remove residual DNA, precisely quantified, and stored at -80^oC. The integrity of each RNA sample as indicated by intact 28S and 18S ribosomal RNA  is verified by denatured agarose gel electrophoresis. The purity of RNA is assessed by spectrophotometer (A260/A280: 1.8-2.1). It is provided in RNase-free water, 1mM sodium citrate, or 0.1 mM EDTA at a concentration of 1 mg/ml.

The DNA samples are suitable for PCR, Southern blot analysis, and DNA library construction. Samples are treated with DNase-free RNase to remove contaminant RNA and provided in 1.5-ml tubes at a concentration of 1mg/ml in TE buffer.

The total protein can be used in Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, SDS-PAGE, isoelectric focusing gels and SDS-capillary electrophoresis. The quality of protein as indicated by the absence of smear (no degradation) and sharpness and resolution of the protein bands are verified by denatured SDS-PAGE with Coomassie blue staining. The integrity of protein is tested by immunoblotting using specific beta-actin antibody. Protein samples are provided in 1.5-ml tubes in RIPA buffer supplemented with a cocktail of 7 protease inhibitors to minimize proteolysis at a concentration of 5mg/ml.
