Zyagen Universal Reference RNA
is a high quality standard for gene expression analysis by microarray, prepared at
industrial scales to
minimize lot-to-lot variation. Reference RNA is composed of highly
pure intact total RNA isolated from all tissues of several adult male and
female Sprague Dawley rats and C57BL/6 mice using
modified guanidine thiocyanate
techniques. After removing hair from skin and food from digestive tract,
all tissues (organs) of animals were cut in very small pieces, snap
frozen, grinding to powder, and homogenized in RNA denatured solution. The
extracted tissue RNA is purified, treated with DNase, dissolved in
1mM sodium citrate,
and provided
at a concentration of 1mg/ml.
The integrity of each reference RNA
sample as indicated by intact 28S and 18S ribosomal RNA is verified by
denatured agarose gel electrophoresis. The purity of RNA is assessed by
spectrophotometer (A260/A280: 2.0).
Features:

High quality intact RNA
treated without genomic DNA contamination
-
Consistent control for standard data set comparisons
-
Extracted from all rat and
mouse tissues for broad gene coverage
-
Made at
industrial scales to
